Jean Charles de Castelbajac began his career in 1968 and lived, along with Claude Montana, Thierry Mugler and Franco Moschino, the frenzy of the 70´s and the 80’s, as well as the designers-turned-into-rock-stars phenomenon, with Grace Jones performing live in his runaway shows and Jerry Hall or Farrah Fawcett posing in his clothes. He was also one of the first to use pop-culture references in his designs, establishing a playful, irreverent aesthetic that broke the mold of the existing mindset.
