Jonathan Zawada

Jonathan Zawada

Jonathan Zawada is a cross-discipline artist and designer whose approach has been described as ‘corporate dada’, having exhibited in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sydney, Barcelona and Paris and worked with companies such as Bloomberg, Nike, BMW, Herman Miller, Asos and Warp Records. He has become best known for his varied approach to the discipline of design, working across many different mediums and visual styles across music, fashion and publishing. Zawada’s practice is informed by his early roots in web design, coding and animation and his further evolution into commercial graphic design, illustration and art direction and now includes object design, sculpture, video, installation and painting. His work has received an Aria, a Bronze D&AD award and a MAPDA. Zawada was born in Perth, Australia in 1981 and currently lives and works in Los Angeles.

Jonathan Zawada pays homage to James Goldstein’s passion for basketball with his Bent Ballers/Twisted Players series of graphic distortions, which were created with the idea of capturing the visceral fluidity of movement in a static image.
