Artist Inge Jacobsen teams up with fashion designer Coralie Marabelle

Fellow artist and HG Issue collaborator Inge Jacobsen, who many may remember from her “Stitching under the skin” series for our Meat Issue, recently collaborated with French fashion designer Coralie Marabelle for four unique hand-woven images. The artworks merge Jacobsen’s iconic needlework techniques and Marabelle’s bold take on womenswear, adding a touch of poetry to the designer’s latest womenswear collection that was recently presented during the Hyères International Fashion Festival 2015.

Having graduated from Studio Berçot in 2001, Marabelle worked with brands like Hermès, Maison Margiela, and most recently with Alexander McQueen in London, before moving back to Paris in order to start her own line. In 2014, she participated for the first time at the Hyères International Fashion Festival, winning the Public Prize, and she was also one of the last finalists of the Grand Prix de la Création de la Ville de Paris 2014. Her daring designs are inspired by the traditional shepherd clothes of northern Iran that she combines with the latest technological innovations, exploring the art of metamorphosis.

Inge Jacobsen, on the other hand, has created a school of her own, the one of embroidered photography, using weaving and collage as her signature style. Jacobsen manipulates fashion editorials and glossy magazine covers without any digital intervention, creating original handmade pieces that trigger our imagination. We leave you with the amazing alliance between these two talented creatives, hoping that it will be followed by further collaborations in the near future.
