Carine Roitfeld’s Fantasy Fashion Campaigns

For the latest thematic issue of CR Fashion Book, which focuses around the idea that “it is always better to be an interesting person than a purely good-looking one”, Carine Roitfeld reimagined this season’s collections in a humorous editorial. The 72-page spread is an alternative take on the typical fashion advertising campaigns, with the names of the world’s most famous brands altered in a humorous way. Dior becomes Dare, Gucci is Gutsy, Proenza Schouler is Proud Scholar, Diane von Furstenberg becomes Doing Very Fine, Bvlgari becomes Bvy Me, Salvatore Ferragamo is Salivating Forglamour, Alexander Wang is named Alexander Wins and Loewe becomes Love Me.

Fantasy Fashion Campaigns features some of the industry’s most sought after models of the moment, among them Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Emily Ratajkowski, Sasha Luss, Lindsey Wixson, Antonina Petkovic, Anna Cleveland and Bella Hadid, shot by photographers Anthony Maule, Johnny Dufort and Michael Avedon. Titled “Jolie laide”, which in French means “beautiful ugly”, the sixth issue of CR Fashion Book celebrates beauty with an edge and from an entirely new perspective, featuring two impressive covers, shot by Karl Lagerfeld and Anthony Maule.
