Chloé collaborates with Studio Voltaire for a limited edition capsule collection

French luxury house Chloé has teamed up with London-based arts organization Studio Voltaire, sponsoring its biannual charity pop-up store “House of Voltaire” in order to contribute to its mission of supporting and promoting emerging and underrepresented artists through an extensive program of exhibitions, performances, events and education projects. In addition, Clare Waight Keller, Chloé’s creative director, teamed up with three female artists, Cao Fei, Jenny Saville and Karen Kilimnik, for a limited edition capsule collection that will be available for sale at the pop-up store, as well as online at Net-A-Porter.

Chinese documentary filmmaker Cao Fei customized for the occasion a series of Chloé archive pieces with stories of everyday women that were printed on long labels placed inside each dress. One of these dresses, a green silk cocktail gown, will be on sale through House of Voltaire. American painter Karen Kilimnik created a line of broderie anglaise pieces made from organic cotton, paying tribute to the 17th century, while British painter Jenny Saville developed a scarf print that was inspired by her studio’s test swatches.

“Studio Voltaire is a fantastic organization in its support and nurturing of emerging artists and I have been waiting for the right moment to get involved in a meaningful way,” explained Clare Waight Keller. “Choosing female artists from around the world to participate connects the concept with the Maison, as Chloé has always had a very close and emotional connection with women. We are thrilled to be sponsoring this year’s House of Voltaire.” House of Voltaire pop-up store is now open until December 20, 2014, at 39-40 Albemarle Street, London W1S.
