DKNY s/s 2015

DKNY’s latest collection pays homage to New York, a city that Donna Karan says it’s the world in one place. For s/s 2015 the designer created an impressive collection that didn’t leave anyone indifferent, combining sports-tech elements with playful geometric motifs and ethnic prints with bold macro and mini stripes. The collection, titled New York Nation, was a street and chic extravaganza, with hip-hop inspired oversized silhouettes and striking color combinations stealing the spotlight and street-casted models adding a touch of coolness to the show. Apart from the funky, kaleidoscopic patterns, there were also some more functional clothes, like a beautiful selection of all-white parkas and trenches that were just perfect for spring.

Accessories included striped chokers, matte plastic sunglasses and sport rubberized watches, as well as Velcro strapped platforms and a collection of high-end sneakers, created in collaboration with Pony. Donna Karan said that she wanted to create a “multicolored, multicultural, multitasking collection, like New York’s unique, global city of neighborhoods” and, judging by the amazing results, she definitely made it happen!
