I-D celebrates its 35th anniversary with limited edition designer covers

Iconic British magazine I-D continues the celebrations of its 35 year anniversary with a series of limited edition cover wraps, designed by some the world’s most prominent fashion designers. After tapping Kate Moss, Lara Stone, Stella Tennant, Jourdan Dunn and Freja Beha for 18 different covers, all shot by British photographer Alasdair McLellan, I-D asked Raf Simons (Dior), Karl Lagerfeld, Phoebe Philo, Riccardo Tisci (Givenchy), Alexander Wang (Balenciaga), Vivienne Westwood, Jeremy Scott (Moschino), Christopher Kane and J.W. Anderson, as well as high street brands Palace and Supreme, to create a bespoke cover that would translate the magazine’s arty spirit and rebellious approach to fashion. The result is a series of 11 amazing artworks that merge art and fashion, making it the perfect gift for the magazine that changed the rules of the industry and defined a whole era with its bold aesthetics and pioneer graphic design.

Raf Simons created for the occasion a superb spring-inspired collage starring Julia Nobis, shot by Willy Vanderperre; Jeremy Scott devised a cartoonish cover that incarnates the irreverent spirit of Moschino; Phoebe Philo collaborated with American poet and performance artist John Giorno; Vivienne Westwood combined photography, graphics and political slogans, including “Time to Act” and “Vote Greem”; Palace merged street art and colorful stickers, while Karl Lagerfeld declared his love to his favorite cat, Choupette, putting her on the back cover of the magazine. The limited edition cover wraps will be on sale at selected retailers worldwide, including Dover Street Market, Colette, 10 Corso Como, SOTO Berlin, Palace and Supreme stores.
