Karlywood exhibition by Tiffany Cooper and Karl Lagerfeld

Karl Lagerfeld has teamed up with French illustrator Tiffany Cooper for a new exhibition of limited edition posters, titled “Karlywood”, on view at the designer’s flagship store in Paris. Cooper, who is famous for her satirical blog “Le Meilleur des Mondes Possibles” and her collaborations with Parisian concept store Colette and magazines like Elle and Milk, was inspired by films like “Kill Bill”, “King Kong”, “Zoolander”, “Home Alone” and “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”, as well as by TV series like “Gossip Girl”, in order to create a collection of imaginary movie posters with Karl Lagerfeld and his beloved cat Choupette as the protagonists. Each poster is a limited edition of 20 copies, numbered and signed by Cooper.

The result is absolutely funny, yet glamorous, and in perfect harmony with Lagerfeld’s playful spirit. In order to celebrate the exhibition, Lagerfeld held some weeks ago an in-store event in Paris that was attended by Vogue’s Suzy Menkes and Franca Sozzani, actresses Vahina Giocante and Deborah Grall, DJ Leigh Lezark and models Erin O’Connor, Lindsey Wixon, Sasha Luss, Ming Xi and Emily Ratajkowski. Cooper and Lagerfeld are also planning to launch a capsule collection of clothes and accessories, featuring Cooper’s drawings of Lagerfeld and his cat. The collection will debut at Colette on April 1 and at Karl Lagerfeld boutiques and shops-in-shop on April 4. “Kalrywood” will remain on view until the end of April at Lagerfeld’s store, 194 Boulevard St. Germain, Paris.
