Lacoste L!VE manga-inspired capsule collection by Sanghon Kim

In anticipation of a highly sporty summer, Lacoste L!VE teams up with multidisciplinary French artist Sanghon Kim for a capsule collection that draws inspiration from football and the 1980’s Japanese sport mangas. The limited-edition collection features a series of white cotton T-shirts, ink blue sweatshirts and cotton piqué polos, with a psychedelic splatter pattern and a reinterpretation of the iconic crocodile crest on the chest and the number 27 on the back, as well as a series of accessories for men and women. Sanghon Kim, apart from collaborating with Lacoste for the graphics of the s/s 2014 capsule collection, also directed a short animation film featuring a football team entirely dressed in Lacoste that fights against an army of villain players. The main piece in the men’s collection, as worn by the characters in the manga animation film, is a polyamide micro-piqué polo shirt, inspired by the classic 1980’s football jersey, with a scarlet red V on the chest, right under the multicolor splatter pattern.

Sanghon Kim traditionally works with various media, from watercolor paintings to videos and drawings, and is known from his collaborations with fashion houses like Kenzo and musicians like Sebastian Tellier, M, The Bewitched Hands, Röyksopp and Surkin. His extraordinary talent and multi tasking skills have been applied with great success to this ever inspiring collaboration. The Lacoste L!VE by Sanghom Kim collection is now available at www.lacoste.com and at selected Lacoste stores around the globe.
