Steet artist Tristan Eaton reinterpets Versace’s Medusa logo

In celebration of the opening of its new flagship store in Honolulu, Versace teamed up with Californian street artist Tristan Eaton and POW! WOW!, the Hawaii-based network of artists that organizes gallery shows, concerts and live art installations across the globe, for a large scale mural on one of the key streets of Honolulu. For the occasion, Tristan Eaton reinterpreted the iconic Versace Medusa logo in his trademark graffiti-meets-pop-art style, using classic Versace patterns and mixing them with photo-realistic elements and multiple layers of textures. The project was curated by artist, illustrator and lead director of POW! WOW! Hawai Jasper Wong, who has always shown a keen interest in the intersection of art and public space. Eaton’s mural took five days to finish and is one of the most inspired variations of the Medusa logo we have ever seen, as sleek and jaw-dropping as the original design. After all, and just like Gianni Versace had said, “whoever falls in love with the Medusa, can’t flee from her!”
