Visionaire teams up with GAP for a collection of UV sensitive T-shirts

Visionaire, the New York based multi format fashion and art publication that is produced in exclusive numbered limited editions, teams up for the second time with GAP for a series of UV sensitive T-shirts, inspired by the themes color, summer and sun. When exposed to direct sunlight, the black and white prints on the T-shirts turn to color, thanks to the use of a special UV-sensitive ink, originally developed and published in Visionaire No. 56 SOLAR Issue. The limited edition T-shirts feature artworks by artists like Alex Katz, Yoko Ono, Richard Phillips, Ugo Rondinone, Peter Lindbergh, François Berthoud and Roe Ethridge. In addition, there are three T-shirts featuring photographic printing of artworks by Mario Sorrenti, Marc Quinn and Tony Oursler and a re-issue of Yoko Ono’s “Grow Love With Me” tee from the first Visionaire and Gap collection, re-imagined in gold foil on white. The collection was officially launched during this year’s Frieze New York with great success, celebrating the close relationship between art and fashion. Each collectible T-shirt is available in limited numbers of 500 and will be sold at key global Gap flagship stores, select Visionaire retailers, Gap Boxpark in London, Gap White Space in Tokyo and Gap White Space in New York, which will be dedicated to the Visionaire partnership from May 9 to May 18.
